A large retaining wall was built out front and along the side to increase the lawn size of the front yard and a smaller one was repaired in the back.
New install on a newly constructed home in Juniper. Features included a small patio at the front entrance, low maintenance plants, shrubs and trees throughout xeriscaped garden beds. At the rear of the home a small water feature was installed along with a juniper hedge to give privacy from the adjoining foot path and then completed with more low maintenance flower beds and a two small lawn areas.
Existing retaining wall was to close to the river bank and area in front was unusable. The wall and stairs were poorly built and unsafe. Wall was removed and the bank cut back to add space. Wall was reinstalled with stairs and handrail. Front patio stones were sunken and uneven so they were removed but saved to be reused at the rear of the house in two separate areas.
Before and afters of 4 retaining walls in the Benchlands in Juniper. Three terraced walls on the lower side of the driveway stabilize the bank and create more plantable areas. One on the upper side to retain the bank above the driveway. Plants, landscape fabric, rock and a dry creek bed were added in the fall one year later.
Every bit of turf was removed from this front yard to lower yard maintenance and reduce water consumption. Three raised flower beds were installed and the surrounding area covered with fabric and rock. In the backyard a small section of turf was also removed to make way for and interlocking brick patio made to custom fit a matching solarium from Costco.
Turning and old dry creek bed into an amazing new water-feature. All the old fabric and rock were removed from this existing dry creek bed. Three ponds were added and all stream areas reshaped. A huge existing boulder was incorporated into the feature which gives it a very natural feel. Pond lighting was added as a final touch to the top and bottom ponds.
What a way to kick off the spring 2014 landscape season with this amazing hardscape project. This huge back yard on the river now features two terraced patterned retaining walls with stairs and two terraced patios, one in paving stones and one in tile.
